In 2014, Vodacom partnered with the Department of Basic Education to kit out some of the country’s poorest schools. The project, worth R6 million, gave stationery sets to 60 000 primary school learners and 120 000 high school learners in the country’s poorest schools. Since 1999 Vodacom has co-funded scholarships with the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University for Masters and Doctoral studies through the Academic Development Scholarship Programme.
